About Dede
I'm Dede (pronounced DAY-DAY) and I have been a registered midwife for 12 years and have 3 years experience working as a private midwife.
Over the last 3 years, I have been a specialist preterm birth midwife based in the East of England.
Experience
I have worked in numerous large London teaching hospitals as an agency midwife and a contracted midwife. This has given me a wealth of experience working in different NHS institutions as well as working with women from all backgrounds.
As a private midwife, I was able to offer women more personalised care to suit their needs during pregancy and after the birth of their babies. This included one to one antenatal education that involved partners.
Having supported with the establishment of a London hospital's continuity team as the team leader, I co-authored a journal paper relating to this in the British Journal of Midwifery. Check it out here.
As a specialist midwife, I have won an award for establishing exemplary midwifery care within a heavily obstetric service to ensure women have continuity at a time that may be full of uncertainty and anxiety.
I am passionate about empowering women through knowledge and education and so I created a Women's Health YouTube channel which empowers women to share their birth stories to help educate others and a TikTok education page. Check them out to get a feel for who I am.

Dede won for her work as a Specialist Pre-term Birth Midwife at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where she helped pregnant women identify those at risk of preterm birth and offered appropriate surveillance during pregnancy.
